MACKLIN BUTTS

Macklin is 43 years old and learned to surf as an adult in his 30s. Because he learned later in life, he had to adapt and learn the humility that comes with a difficult task. “Surfing is not something you learn in a one hour lesson on vacation, it takes repetition. I learned and practiced muscle memory techniques that were very useful for myself and others learning to surf that didn't learn as children"

Over time old injuries from his athletic youth days resurfaced. Macklin had to stop surfing for awhile and fell in love with paddle boarding as a form of rehab for a shoulder and a knee surgery. Because of all the time he spent paddle boarding on flat water he transitioned to SUP surfing rather quickly. “I love surfing and being in the ocean and really enjoy teaching others how to surf and want to share this passion with you. Surfing forces you to be in the moment and connect with nature. It is a motivator for Health and Longevity. If this is what you are looking for I hope to introduce this joy to you.”
